Other terms that are used interchangeably are an abrasive saw, metal chop saw, abrasive chop saw or a cut-off saw. The biggest advantage of the Cut Off Saw is that it comes with an abrasive disc instead of a blade. This disk has no teeth allowing it to cut through very hard material like steel, rebar, or cast iron.
Cold cut saws are great for any workshop and are popular for the speed of cut (approx 4 times faster than a bandsaw) and for leaving a nice clean cut with little or no burr. We use a cold cut saw regularly for cutting multiple cuts of the same length using a stopper guide to set length. They are simply the easiest and fastest option for this and with no dust (unlike abrasive cut of saws) keep the workshop nice and clean.

They are made to fit pipe and RHS stugly and at correct radios to ensure a near perfect 90 degree bend. Dont waste your time with cheap formers, they are simply imposible to achieve a bend with out kinking pipe due to to smaller radious and pipe not fitting correctly.
